Scholarship details:


  • Students can acquire a Master's degree in Master programmes with an emphasis on the social, political, and economic development of their home countries through the initiative, which is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
  • In accordance with the principles of good governance, highly competent graduates with a first academic degree are receiving training in political science, law, economics, and administration in preparation for future leadership roles in their home countries.




Graduates (bachelor's degree or equivalent) from underdeveloped and rising nations:
 

  • with a first-level degree in a field related to social and political sciences, law, economics, public policy, or administration
  • with above-average grades (upper third)
  •  who are eager to actively contribute to the social, political, and economic development of their home countries or regions, and 
  • who have already gained practical experience pertinent to the programme (work experience, internships, political/social commitment), as well as
  •  who have a first-level university degree and strong academic


Scholarship Duration and

 Reward

The scholarship holders will receive:



  1. scholarships (currently valued at €934 per month) for master's programmes at German higher education institutions health insurance coverage in Germany appropriate travel reimbursements for travel between Germany and the relevant developing and emerging nations a study and research grant rent subsidies and family supplements, as applicable preceding German language course in Germany, lasting up to 6 months; participation is required.
  2. Due to the idea of blended learning used in the "Social Protection" master's programme, the following variance with regard to financing advantages applies: In the fourth semester, which is a required online semester in the student's home country or another developing or rising nation, a sur-placerate of € 500 per month is paid.

Who can apply:



You may submit an application if you already have your first degree (such as a bachelor's or diploma) before the beginning of the financing period.



What can be funded:


The project offers financial support for:


  • one year of study abroad as part of a second or Master's degree earned at your home university, or a complete postgraduate or Master's degree course completed at a state-funded or state-recognized university in Germany.
  •  The standard requirement is that your home university accepts the academic credits you earn in Germany.
  •  Furthermore, the study year in Germany should not extend beyond the typical length of study at your home university.

A German Master's programme that has already begun as of the application deadline cannot be supported.


Timeframe for Funding


  1. Depending on how long you want to study, the scholarship is intended for stays between 10 and 24 months.
  2. The scholarships are awarded for up to 24 months, which is the normal period of study for the chosen programme.
  3.  Please include in your submission the entire time period for which you wish to apply for a scholarship.
  4.  If you wish to complete a two-year degree programme, for example, you must specifically declare in your application that you want the scholarship to run for two years.
  5.  After your first year of education, a further funding procedure will assess your academic achievements. If this suggests you will finish your programme quickly and effectively, 



"The scholarship will go as scheduled.
If you enrol in a German language course before starting your study programme, the scholarship may start as early as the first of October of the following year."

  4. If you're requesting admission to two master's programmes: In your motivation letter, please rank the courses in order of preference, explaining why your top master's course option is your top choice and your second choice is your second choice. applying for each course option
  5. Please give specific justifications for how you believe it will help you succeed academically and professionally. The same letter of motivation must be submitted for both courses you are applying for.
