IGP Balochistan's operational weapon against criminals and saboteurs is the Counter Terrorist Force. This force is primarily used for operational and security tasks around the province to uphold law and order. At the time of its founding, CTD served the following primary purposes:-

conducting raids or search operations when there is a higher risk of coming across armed opponents.

to improve security measures, particularly for: VVIP / VIP visits

Attack on major installations or key locations

heinous or popular crimes

Crisis in law and order (mass murder, significant ethnic or sectarian conflict, etc.)

Before deploying CTD troops, the Concerned DPO/ SP will give them a detailed briefing.

Unless all other options have been exhausted, CTF won't operate or act independently.

CTF won't be used to apprehend political activists, students, workers, or common criminals.

The CTD willing not serve as both gunmen and parade marshals.

Although CTD will perform operational tasks under the relevant DPO, SP/Commander CTF Balochistan will continue to exercise administrative control over the force.

For its recruitment on a contract basis, the Counter Terrorism Department Jobs is seeking applications from competent and spirited individuals (The Counter Terrorism Department Jobs 2023). For these positions, the Counter Terrorism Department is accepting applications from both male and female Civilians.

 There are openings for Class IV (BPS-04), Junior Clerk (BPs-11), and Data Entry Operator (BPS-12). Candidates with Intermediate Qualifications who are literate in English may apply for these positions.
